To make sure that the cleaning department follows all the rules for operation, quality, and efficiency, and that guests and property owners are given the best service possible, the Assistant Director of cleaning helps to direct and handle all of their work. Among other duties are the following:
Please help guide and oversee the Housekeeping Department’s work to make sure it meets operational, quality, speed, and greatness standards when serving guests and property owners.
When dealing with our guests and Team Members, we expect you to always be committed and dedicated to our Spirit of Service culture.
In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, the assistant leads the department and makes sure that all team members are doing their jobs well. This makes sure that the department runs smoothly and efficiently, giving guests and owners the best cleaning services possible.
- Check rooms and shared areas on a regular basis to make sure they meet staff standards.
- Keep an eye on guest requests and complaints, and if needed, work with other teams to make sure the best service possible.
- Help keep an exact record of the clothes and tools that are being used.
- Watch over the Lost and Found and uniform swap to make sure the right steps are taken. Keep an eye on all cleaning operations and help with the floor and carpet care program.
- Make sure that all of the department’s property, including supplies, tools, and storage, is locked and safe.
- Help hire, oversee, discipline, and train all staff working under the Housekeeping Department’s direction.
- Also, help with routine chores related to keeping accurate records, such as keeping salary records, staff plans, leave hours, etc.
- May look into crashes and file accident reports, suggesting the right steps to take to fix the problem.
- Make sure that everyone in the department is working safely and in line with OSHA rules. Follow all of the company’s rules and policies for buying things, including all bids, budgets, and plans for outside contractors.
- Could be asked to run team meetings

In order to do this job well, you must have at least the following skills and experience:
- Proof of high school or GED
- 2+ years of work as a boss
- 3 or more years of work in a cleaning job similar to this one
- Very good at organising things

- All staff rules, policies, and safety standards must be known and followed. This includes OSHA, blood-borne germs, and cleaning standards.
- Knowing how to use all cleaners and cleaning tools correctly
- Good English skills so you can talk and write to guests, owners, and team members, and fully understand what you’re supposed to do on the job.
